Our standard
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA across the site and test new features against it before release.
What we've built in
- Full keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators on every interactive element.
- Semantic headings, landmarks, and ARIA labels for screen readers.
- Descriptive alternative text on content images.
- Color contrast that meets AA on text and interface controls.
- Captions support on 713Black TV episodes and transcripts on podcast episodes.
- Responsive layouts that work at 200% zoom and on small screens.
Keyboard shortcuts
Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move focus, Enter or Space to activate, and Esc to close dialogs and menus.
Known limitations
Some embedded third-party players and advertiser creatives are outside our control and may not fully meet AA. We flag these with partners as we find them.
