The Fade To Black Play Festival is Houston’s 1st and only short play festival to celebrate African-American playwrights and it is the hippest, hottest theatre event of the year!
Ten seasons of operations is a huge milestone for us and we want to spread the news. We consistently offer a great service to our theatre community. We are not “just a Black play festival created just for Black people”. Our festival is inclusionary, necessary, and volunteer-supported, and we are proud that the participation of culturally diverse artists has helped us grow more popular every year! The Fade To Black live performance is exciting to see and has become one of the most highly anticipated festivals of the year.

On May 1, 2022, we will release the names of the top 10 national winners and send out press releases citywide.  We have confirmed that 9 of the 10 winners will be in attendance for this event.
Our event takes place June 23-25, 2022, at MATCH Theater (Downtown) 3400 Main Street, Houston, TX 77002 | 8 pm – 10:15 pm nightly.
